Canton Multi-Cultural Center and Museum - A history
and celebration of Canton's diverse and rich cultural heritage.
This multimedia museum features an extensive exhibit on Sister
Thea Bowman as well as over 50 videotaped interviews on topics
ranging from slavery, civil rights, early African American
businessmen, education, family, and music. The museum features
a kiosk of outstanding oral history as told by many local

Top Trails. In Chautauqua Park, where the nation's Parent
Teachers Association (PTA) was founded in 1909, a wooded trail

Be sure to visit the Mary Lovelace O'Neal exhibit
at the Mississippi Museum of Art (Jackson). This exhibition
is the first to survey the large-scale abstract paintings
of this Jackson native who chairs the art department at the
University of California, Berkeley. Since the mid-1970's O'Neal
has created vibrant paintings with rich surfaces and frenzied
brushwork. This presentation of 25 years of her art is accompanied
by an illustrated catalogue with essays by David Driskell,
Melanie Herzog, and Lilly Wei.

Deep South Antique & Wine Trail - Antique lovers
and wine connoisseurs will soon be traveling to southwest
Mississippi and southeast Louisiana to discover the hidden
treasures of local antique shops and wineries. This cooperative
endeavor between the states begins in Natchez, Mississippi,
and travels south to various Louisiana cities, ending in Slidell.
The Deep South Antique & Wine Trail is an attraction that
ties 200 miles and six counties and parishes together, and
with over 100 antique and collectible shops along the way,
it will offer a wonderful glimpse into the local wine-making

The City of Natchez Office of Tourism recently opened a new
meeting facility, The Natchez City Center. The facility is
the first of the three-phase project, The Natchez Convention
Center Complex. The property has 5,776-sq. ft. in the
Main Hall, 767 in the Prefunction area and 2,280 in the courtyard.
The next phases are the restoration of the City Auditorium
and the completion of the Natchez Convention Center.

Vicksburg's new, Great Animal Adventures Children's Museum
is located in an 1888 stables building. The museum is dedicated
to the interpretation of Dr. Bill Lindley's collection of
veterinary artifacts. Hands-on children's exhibits, special
programs and events are featured.
Ameristar Casino Vicksburg's $10 million dollar renovation
has been completed and they have just opened their newest
attraction, Bottleneck Blues Bar, a 1930's delta-style theater
jumpin' blues club. Visitors will enjoy a variety of foods,
from Red Beans and Rice, to Dixie Blues Burgers. Featured
music will include not only blues, but jazz, pop and country,
as well.
