Over 400 outstanding events occur throughout
Mississippi each year, and are just waiting to turn your visit into
a fun-filled vacation extravaganza. Arts and crafts festivals, music
festivals, and Civil War reenactments are just the beginning. Go

These are some of the great events held
in the Capital/River Region:
1. Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo
- Jackson
The second largest PRCA rodeo east of the Mississippi River offers
ten performances. Livestock show includes horse shows, junior livestock
show. At the Western Festival enjoy a trade show and dance. Parade
kicks off the event.
2. Natchez Spring Pilgrimage - Natchez
Lovers of history and the traditions of the Old South step into
the past for an enchanted visit to Natchez, the oldest permanent
settlement on the Mississippi River. Hoop-skirted guides welcome
visitors to 32 beautiful antebellum houses.
3. Canton Flea Market - Canton
The large bi-annual arts and crafts show features over 1,100
booths on the grounds of historic Madison County Courthouse
and throughout the downtown area. Voted one of the top 100
events by the American Bus Association. May & October
4. Jubilee!JAM - Jackson
As the city's largest outdoor music and arts festival, Jubilee!JAM
features performances by great local, regional and national artists.
Family and children's activities are planned. Held in the streets
of downtown Jackson.
5. Mississippi State Fair - Jackson
This is one of the South's largest fairs, featuring amusement rides,
concessions, musical entertainment and a variety of competitions
and educational demonstrations. A state tradition since 1860.
