Pearl River Resort - This is the only resort development
of its kind on an Indian reservation. It will prove to be

- Fairgrounds - This facility will include an exposition
hall, dance pavilion, stickball arena and entertainment
venue.
- Amphitheater / Sports Complex - A 10,000-seat, outdoor facility
for regional, competitive events.
- Water Park - This attraction features water slides
for all ages, tube shoots, water playgrounds and a refreshment
center.
- Fitness / Wellness Center - University-style health
and fitness center featuring state-of-the-art weights, cardiovascular
equipment and more.
- Lakefront Hotel - Casual 200-room low-rise hotel
situated on the lake.
- The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians is building
a 300-room Hard Rock Hotel and Hard Rock Beach Club (Choctaw).
Slated to open by 2006, this will be the next addition to
the Pearl River Resort Complex and will be built in the
style of the popular Hard Rock Cafes that are in cities

All of the Choctaw's existing gaming and entertainment operations
will fall under the overall umbrella of the new Pearl River
Resort at Choctaw, Mississippi. The following expansions will
be included in the Pearl River construction:
- The Silver Star Hotel & Casino - The existing
facility features an expansion to create a retail promenade.
- The Golden Moon Hotel & Casino - Recently
opened features 24-hour gaming and 572 hotel rooms.
- Dancing Rabbit Golf Club - Named one of the "Top
100 Courses in America" by Golf Magazine (Spring 1999),
the course provides avid golfers with two award-winning,
par 72 courses on 750 acres of rolling red clay hills. In
addition, visitors have access to a 15-acre driving range
with seven targets, a chipping green, two putting greens,
and golf lessons by appointment.

Around Town Carousels Abound (Meridian). Around Town
Carousels Abound is an amazingly fun outdoor public art project
in Meridian, Mississippi. There are 37 brightly decorated
carousel horses created by the talented hands of local and
regional artists each with their own theme and story. The
horses have been sponsored by businesses and individuals and
placed in prominent locations throughout the city. All proceeds
from the project benefit Hope Village for Children.
Amtrak has announced that Meridian will be
the hub of new service between Mississippi and Dallas/Fort
Worth. The train service will be an extension of the existing
New York to New Orleans Crescent route. Service will split
in Meridian with the westbound train going to Texas and the
