Choctaw
Mississippi's newest city encompasses
the Choctaw Indian reservation, where this remarkable tribe
of Native Americans lives. Legend speaks of a people that
sprang from the mouth of a cave located at the sacred site
of Nanih Waiya, near Choctaw, Mississippi. They prospered
and grew strong, and when troubled times came, they allied
themselves with the English to fight the French and Indian
War. Victory comes in many forms, and today the Mississippi
Band of Choctaw Indians have emerged winners with the recent
development of the fabulous Pearl River Resort, which includes
two world-class casinos, two championship golf courses, and
a water theme park. The resort's most recent addition, Hard
Rock Beach Café is just one of the many reasons visitors
are discovering that the stars and the moon really do shine
brighter over Choctaw, Mississippi.
